Ivan Vejvoda is a Senior Researcher at the Austria’s Institute on international politics and co-founder of the Europe’s Futures Initiative (2025). Since 2017, he has been a Permanent Fellow at the IWM, where he headed the Europe’s Futures program and served as interim rector (2021-22). Previously, he was Senior Vice President at the German Marshall Fund (GMF) and Executive Director of GMF’s Balkan Trust for Democracy (2003-2010). He served as a senior foreign policy advisor to Prime Ministers Zoran Djindjic and Zoran Zivkovic, and prior to that, he led the Fund for an Open Society (1998-2002). He is a recipient of French and Italian state orders.
