Steven Blockmans is an expert in European Union law and external relations. He is currently an Associate Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) , a Senior Research Fellow at the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) in Estonia , and a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe. Previously, he was Director of Research at CEPS and a Professor of EU External Relations Law and Governance at the University of Amsterdam. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from Leiden University. His expertise covers EU foreign policy (CFSP, CSDP), enlargement, sanctions, and institutional issues. He is an experienced lecturer, consultant , and author of numerous academic publications
