Sevda Alankuş

Professor of Communication Studies and Dean at Yaşar University, İzmir, Turkey

Sevda Alankuş holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and is Professor of Communication Studies and Dean at Yaşar University, İzmir, Turkey. Her research focuses on journalism ethics, feminist news criticism, gender and media, rights-based reporting, and peace journalism. Since 2000, she has served as a training consultant for the Independent Communication Network (bianet), promoting rights- and gender-based, child-sensitive reporting, leading to nine edited volumes including the Peace Journalism Handbook. In 2024, she received the Turkish Journalists’ Association Peace Journalism Prize. She also serves on the expert council of the International Fetisov Journalism Awards and contributes widely through publications, interviews, videos, and podcasts.
