Home » “Joint History Books” Workshop Held in Tuzla

TUZLA – In the premises of the Tuzla Cultural Center, from May 15 to 17, as part of the educational workshops for primary and secondary school teachers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia titled Museum of the 90s – A New Approach to Learning, organized by the Museum90 initiative from Belgrade, historian and member of the JHP friends network, Andrijana Vlahovljak, held a workshop titled Joint History Books: New Methodologies in History Teaching.

During the workshop, the Joint History project was presented and promoted, with a special focus on the creation process of the joint history workbooks, their methodological foundations, and the possibilities of their application in teaching. Teachers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with all phases of the project, as well as with the advantages of using a multiperspective approach when dealing with sensitive historical topics. Special emphasis was placed on developing critical thinking, encouraging dialogue, and actively involving students in the learning process through working with diverse historical sources and interpretations.

In the practical part of the workshop, teachers worked in mixed groups to design teaching activities using materials from the sixth book, Wars, Divisions, Integrations (1990–2008). Through this collaborative effort, participants exchanged experiences and ideas regarding contemporary approaches to history teaching, aiming to improve teaching practices and strengthen regional cooperation among educators.

The workshop was held as part of the opening of the Museum90 guest exhibition titled The Nineties: From Dissent to Resistance.

This phase of the Joint History Project – JHP 2.0 is implemented by the European Fund for the Balkans, with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
