We are pleased to invite early- and mid-career academics and professionals, particularly historians, as well as researchers, educators, and experts from related fields to participate in the upcoming international conference: ‘Violence in History: Experiences, Memories, and Representations in Southeast Europe
“Violence in History: Experiences, Memories, and Representations in Southeast Europe”
The conference will bring together participants from 13 countries of Southeast Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Turkey) with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences on this extremely important topic.
Participants are invited to engage in the conference in different ways, according to their interests and preferences. They may present their own research paper, contribute to thematic discussions and debates, share methodological approaches and experiences, or simply take part in the broader academic exchange and networking opportunities the conference offers.
Conference Details & Conditions:
The conference will take place from September 24 to 26, 2026, at Panteion University in Athens, Greece. This opportunity is open exclusively to early and mid-career academics and professionals from 13 Southeast European countries. To ensure full accessibility and support for the selected participants, the organizer will fully cover all participation costs, including travel and accommodation.

Your application must include:
- A brief Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- A short motivation letter (around 100 – 200 words) explaining your interest in the conference.
