Kornelija Ajlec is a historian specializing in contemporary history, focusing on refugees, postwar reconstruction, and Yugoslav relations with the US and International Organizations. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of History and leads two projects, the first on Motherhood and Reproductive Politics and the second on Yugoslavia as both the recipient and a donor of strategic and humanitarian aid. Alongside many papers, she has co-published three monographs, including Dimembered Slovenia, and is a Fulbright Scholar.
She teaches courses in contemporary global history, European integration, and social history.
