Dragutin Papović graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Philosophy (History and Geography), University of Montenegro. He earned his MA in 2007 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade and his PhD in 2013 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić. Since 2020, he has been an assistant professor in the History Program at the University of Montenegro. He is a member of the History Committee of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts. From 2015 to 2016, he was Director General for Relations with Religious Communities, and from 2016 to 2023, a member of the Montenegrin Parliament.
